Need a favor from all those using my hacks

Dear readers,

Thanks to design guru Aditya's help, we now have promotion buttons for bvibes. So many of you have picked up my hacks for free in the past and improved your blogs. Here's a small favor that you could do for me in return. As part of my efforts to promote my new venture bvibes.com, I found out that advertising in major blogs like problogger.net costs a lot (in the order of $1000 per month). So, I am asking you to add this small button to your sidebar and help me spread the word.

In Template/Page elements tab, click on "Add a page element" and add a HTML/Javascript element with this piece of code:

<style type="text/css">
.bvibes_img {
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
float:center;
display:block;
}
</style>
<a href="http://bvibes.com">
<img class="bvibes_img" src="http://bvibes.com/bvibes_button_ad.png">
</a>

Then you can move the button to wherever you want in your sidebar (preferably in a prominent position).

For those who have joined bvibes.com, don't you want to see more people reading your submissions? Here's a bigger button that you could add to your blog.

Just modify the img src line as follows to use this image:
<img class="bvibes_img" src="http://bvibes.com/bvibes_ad.png">

Thank you!

Yes, I am planning to use this awesome work by Aditya as the logo as well. I will ask him to logo-ize it.

I added it to my sidebar, but it doesn't seem to be showing up.

I use a lot of your great hacks, added it and thanks for all you do to improve the blog world.

I can see it now. Did you fix it?

Done.

Is there a way to center it within the constraints of the sidebar? It's oriented to the left where everything else is oriented to the right... if I'm making any sense.

Seiche,

I have modified the code in this post to make it centered. Man, I hate this css. It took me so much time to just center an image in both IE and Firefox. Most of the examples in web don't work.

no worries! i'll include the code asap...

Added. That's the least in return for all those helpful performance-enhancing hacks.

Just a few suggestions.

One: The png images a little on the heavier side for their dimensions.

Two: More options of buttons for the sake of variety and compatibility with different blog designs. I had to change the size to suit my requirements.

Three: Also include banner and skyscraper ads, which many of us will be happy to display. They will attract more attention.

Four: A little uncomfortable with css, I used my pre-elementary knowledge of html on to my blog to display the button:

<div align="center"><a href="http://bvibes.com"><img border="0" vspace="15" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_lCUj1FXbx48/Rm9oDOtHQWI/AAAAAAAAAjs/P5o0rJCO72g/s200/bvibes_ad.jpg" title="bVibes - Democratising the blogosphere"/></a></div>

The resized image is 125x125.

Hey Ramani. Very cool. I'd be happy to add a link. I went to check it out and joined; still not sure what it is but I'm going to familiarize myself. I'm sure it's great if it's YOUR work! ;)

BTW, I changed my blog design. It's down to 2 columns but still functions the same. Go take a look (if you're curious)!

Hi Ramani,

I'm trying to put hmtl instructions in a post. If I put the code in it shows the link. I tried to snip it and post as a photo, but then one can't copy and paste. Can you instruct me what I have to do?

Janet,

Try Purplemoggy's instructions here.

Thanks for coming by my new site Ramani! I don't know how to use the NEO template at my new domain but I just happily added the bvibes big button to my side bar. I'll add the little bvibe it to the bottom of each of my posts but it may take a few days because I have to rebuild my links from scratch.

Awesome. Thanks bobby!
